Educating the leaders of tomorrow since 1958, San Jose Elementary School is located in a quiet neighborhood in Dunedin, Florida. It is adjacent to Hammock Park.
San Jose is a neighborhood school with a warm, family atmosphere and caring staff members.
If location is everything, then proximity to the Pinellas Trail, Hammock Park, Dunedin Nature Center and the Gulf of Mexico makes our school a "natural choice."

Pinellas County Schools will once again offer 'Summer Bridge' summer learning programs for elementary, middle and high school students.
Summer Bridge programs are aimed at preventing summer learning losses and preparing students for success at the next grade level. Core Summer Bridge programs for elementary will be offered Monday through Thursday, from June 17-July 24, 2014. Elementary school program hours will be 8am to 1pm.
The programs will include enrichment activities, are especially important for students who are performing below grade level in reading or math. They are also beneficial for students who are performing at grade level but need extra support to stay on track.
In mid-March parents of students who are performing below grade level will begin receiving invitations for their children to participate. Please talk with your child's teacher if you don't receive an invitation and think your child will benefit from Summer Bridge. Check out the district's Summer Bridge website, www.pcsb.org/summerbridge for the latest information about Summer Bridge programs.
Visit our San Jose School Improvement Plan for 2013-14 on our new School Improvement Page on this website.
Our children's safety depends upon you to obey the speed limit on San Helen Drive and in all of our school zones. Please be courteous and keep a watchful eye when pulling out of all parking lots. Please keep all children in your car in their seatbelts until your car comes to a complete stop. Thanks.
*It's the Florida law...children age 16 or under must wear a safety helmet when they ride their bikes and skateboards whether its riding to school or just riding around the neighborhood. Police will be checking our neighborhood area to make sure kids are wearing a helmet. They have the right to issue warnings and tickets.
If you can not afford a bike/skateboard helmet for your San Jose child, please contact our Janine Munns at 727 469-5956 and she can help you to get one for your child!
Children should not arrive at school before 8:05am. There is no supervision before that time. Thanks for your assistance.
